Emily put on a fantastic puppet show for us all today..... well, most of us. At first she didn't have her brother's name down on the invitation, however, she did add his name to the list a little while later. Em was very thoughtful and organized in her presentation and started the show with introductions and thank-yous to all involved. Oh, and she made sure she reminded us to turn off our cell phones and not to use our cameras!

Outside
Today we had alot of fresh air today which was good because I think it balanced out the time we spent watching a movie (a Bugs Life) today! Wyatt was a fast target so not so many pictures of him, but Em was a perfect model! :-D I love the blowing dandelion fluffs! I could do that all day too! Wyatt is such a confident little bike rider that I am sure it won't be long before he is laying tracks with Dad!

Rainy Day in May
Today's fun thing was to make a Robot or anything you want with hinged arms and legs (using metal fasteners) that swing and move. I made a little sample one to show the kids what it would look like and how cool it was that the arms and legs could move.....
This is how it started...
Wy working on it...
All 4 of them thinking and creating...
(see the fasteners in the middle of the table?)
Em putting it all together...
TaaDaa! The end result! Aren't they cool?
This WAS the kind of look I was going for!
Using these things!
I hope you don't get sick of seeing the blocks because I think I will have a picture like this every week!! I LOVE seeing what the boys have created with these random sized wood pieces! It is so fun seeing what creative and imaginative structure they come up with next! And it is so neat (I know I have said this before too!) that they work together so well and that neither one is dominating or controlling the project.

D is for Dinosaur
Today's fun/craft was DINOSAURS! Now I don't know a whole lot about dinosaurs so I was scrambling a bit. I decided to keep it simple. I gathered up the dinosaurs from around the house, tried to print out corresponding coloring pages for each dinosaur and then had the kids match them up, guessing or saying the name as we went along! I was actually surprised at how they all got into it! They really know how to play with those prehistorical creatures!!

As for the remainder of the day we played outside on the swings and on the bouncy obstacle course. We even ate lunch outside! What a lovely day! Were the kids tired? The two at my house sure were! Fun & Sun will do it, I think!
The kids asked me why the "D" was hanging on the wall? Heh heh heh
Paper Bag Day
Wednesday we made paper bag puppets! It was a hoot! I chose the animals for the kids according to who their lovies are. ie. a dog for Wy (Mr. Fizzer), an elephant for Em (toot toot), a frog for Maiz (she is into frogs right now), and a bear for Bro (bear-bear aka Crusty).

Here is Em loving her "salad"!!
She was truly excited about it!
She even said to Maisie so excitedly, "Maisie! Don't you just LOVE salad??"
